Gayle Shalloo grew up in southern California where she began hockey at the age of 4. She trained with the Los Angeles King’s powerskating instructor for 10 years. She then moved to Arizona where she played several years of  Tier II hockey.  A Connecticut Division I Prep School recruited her and she received the Ashmead Cup as a Sophomore. In 2000 Gayle received a scholarship to Providence College where she received the Division I ECAC Rookie of Week in November. In May 2004 Gayle graduated with a degree in Communication from Arizona State University.

 

Gayle’s hockey career also includes the following:

  • Coach for USA Hockey National Development Camp: Peoria, AZ, 2003; SLC, UT, 2004
  • Olympic Candidate
  • Over 20 years of hockey experience
  • 2008 District Championship

Janis Peel born in Oak Park, Illinois, moved to Toronto, Canada while in High School.  Played University and Recreational Hockey.Head Coach Oakville Hornets Girls AA Hockey, Oakville, Ontario, Canada 2002-2006.  League Champions,  Provincial Silver Medalists.  Guest Coach – Bobby Orr/Cassie Campbell Chevrolet Canada Safe and Fun Hockey Tour 2006. Certified Trainer USA Hockey Level 4 Coach. Moved to Phoenix in July 2006 and have two kids, Jeffrey (18) and Ashley (13)

Jim Husted grew up in Flint Michigan and started playing hockey at 4 years of age!  For the next 14 years Jim played hockey throughout Michigan with his home ice in Flint through squirts and then moved to Waterford as his home rink.  In 1982, playing for Paddock Pools out of Ecorse Michigan, they won the National Junior A championship.  That earned him a scholarship to Michigan Tech University where he played 2 seasons with the Huskies.  Many years as an instructor with the LaFontaine hockey school while in Michigan and has continued playing hockey for the past 40 years!  Involving himself with youth teams for the past 8 years. 

 

Our program takes pride in making sure that every coach is USA Hockey cetified and has a background with experience to help each player develop on and off of the ice.
